The body as the missing piece of the puzzle

Psychology means the study of the mind namely thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Many of us don’t recognise the effects on the body and particularly the nervous system and often can’t put into words what is happening. The body has no words, and words sometimes doesn’t quite reach the source of what we sense. I’ve come to realise through my hours of training in “top-down” modalities where the body symptoms were just the effects of the thoughts and feelings that there’s something missing. No matter how much you reframe a thought, challenge beliefs, use strategies to cope with emotional overwhelm, change your lifestyle and how you manage relationships, the body can get forgotten and left behind.

How do we work with a body that doesn’t have words? Movement? Physical like ice baths or massages or saunas?
